Martin Devereux

I have worked in the Cultural Heritage sector for almost 30 years.

As a qualified archivist, and Registered Member of the Archives and Records Association (ARA), I have considerable experience of cataloguing historic collections, particularly business archives and audio-visual collections. I am a member of the Association of Historic and Fine Art Photographers (AHFAP), and a committee member of ARA’s Film, Sound & Photography Special Interest Group between 2005 and 2025.

Over many years working in libraries, archives and museums I have developed my skills as an archives administrator, collections manager and digital practitioner. I’ve managed website projects, led work to build digital interactives, written digital strategies, and founded a digitisation studio. I’ve picked up numerous skills along the way, not only as a cataloguer, but as a digitisation specialist who understands the application of recognised standards. I’ve learnt innovative digitisation techniques, including the capture of museum objects in 3D.

In 2024, I made the leap and became an independent consultant, offering archive administration services and consultancy. Often working in partnership with Digitisation.IO, I offer my skills and experience to charities, universities and businesses.

Based in Bedfordshire, I am in easy reach of most of England and am willing to travel further afield.
